Wishing You and Your Family a Happy Thanksgiving
We have much to be thankful for this Thanksgiving season. From my family to yours, we wish you the warmest greetings and blessings as you enjoy your time with family. May we make every day a day of Thanksgiving.
Be Safe this Holiday Traveling Season
Please take care on the roads during this busy holiday traveling season.
You can check conditions on more than 40,000 roadway miles, including color-coded winter conditions on 2,900 miles, by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information, and access to more than 850 traffic cameras.
In anticipation of the increased traffic that typically occurs during the Thanksgiving holiday, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and law enforcement agencies are taking part in a statewide Click It or Ticket (CIOT) seat-belt enforcement mobilization.
As part of the national CIOT mobilization, 250 Pennsylvania law enforcement agencies across the state will participate in an effort to increase seat-belt use and reduce the number of unrestrained injuries and fatalities.
In 2016, 410 of the 1,188 people who were killed in crashes statewide were not wearing their seat belts.
