Senator Scavello to Host Tdap Vaccine Clinic with PA Department of Health

As part of my ongoing Healthy Living Series, I am hosting a Tdap Vaccine Clinic in partnership with the PA Department of Health on August 8 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at my Pen Argyl district office (2 N. Robinson Avenue, Pen Argyl).

Tdap is a combination booster vaccine that inoculates against tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis (whooping cough).

The Tdap vaccine shots are available to individuals of all ages who are uninsured or underinsured. This service is not available to anyone with Medicare Part D or insurance that already covers the vaccination.

Contact the PA Department of Health at 610-250-1825 to schedule your FREE appointment.

Around the 40th District

This week we celebrated the 75th Anniversary of the United Way of Monroe County, PA and three distinguished honorees. Paul and Judy Schuchman were recognized with the Mattioli Philanthropy Award for their longtime contributions and volunteer support of United Way. Linda McDonald was awarded Volunteer of the Year for her countless hours spent on many committees and coordinating the first ever Day of Action. And Northampton Community College was recognized as Partner of the Year for their outstanding community partnership. Thank you all for your continued service!

Also pictured are Tyler Day from PA State Rep. Jack Rader's office and Michael Albert, Executive Director of United Way.

Congratulations to new Eagle Scout Philip Roesch on obtaining the highest advancement rank available in the Boy Scouts of America. It was a pleasure attending your ceremony!

A number of 4th of July events were hosted around the 40th District this past week. It was my privilege to march in the Upper Mount Bethel and Portland Borough as we celebrated our nationís Independence Day! We are grateful for the many freedoms we enjoy every day and for our servicemen and servicewomen past and present who have sacrificed much for those freedoms.
