Special Ceremony Planned to Honor Vietnam Veterans

Vietnam veterans endured unimaginable risks in order to defend the principles of freedom and democracy, and in many cases, they did not receive the respect and gratitude they deserved when they came home. This fall, I look forward to joining Senator Ryan Aument and many of our colleagues from the House of Representatives to honor some of our local heroes who served in the military during that turbulent time in our nationís history.

A special ceremony will take place on Saturday, October 21, from 10 a.m. until noon at Hempfield High School in Landisville. A special Vietnam veteranís lapel pin has been produced as part of the program and will be distributed to veterans and widows of Vietnam veterans at the event.

In order to be recognized and receive the commemorative pin, a recipient must be a United States military veteran who served on active duty at any time during the period of November 1, 1955 to May 15, 1975, regardless of stationing location.

Registration is required for participants. If you or someone you know served during the conflict in Vietnam and would like to participate in this event and be recognized, please call my district office at (717) 397-1309. Additional details about the event are available in the flyer below.
