Next Week – US Rt. 322 Section 102 Public Meeting

There will be a U.S. Route 322 – Section 102 public meeting at the Upper Chichester Township Field House (8500 Furey Road, Upper Chichester, PA) on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at 6 p.m.

Assistance for Veterans Available

I am beginning a partnership with the Pennsylvania American Legion to assist veterans at my Brookhaven office, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, January 24th. I would like to encourage veterans and their families who have questions about benefits and programs to schedule an appointment for these assistance hours.

A representative from the Pennsylvania American Legion will be available at my Brookhaven district office, located at 4110 Edgmont Avenue. Appointments for these hours are strongly encouraged and can be made by contacting the office at (610) 447 – 3163. If a veteran cannot attend this date, this service will be offered every fourth Wednesday of each month.

Coebourn Elementary School Green Ribbon Award

Coebourn Elementary School, in Brookhaven, has been selected as a recipient of the 2017 U.S. Green Ribbon Schools Award. Coebourn is among 45 winning schools from across the nation and was the only school in Pennsylvania to receive the honor this year.

The Green Ribbon Schools Awards program, established in 2011, is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education and recognizes schools for their innovative efforts to reduce environmental impact and utility costs, improve health and wellness, and ensure effective sustainability education.

Property Tax and Rent Rebate Deadline Approaching

December 31, 2017 is the deadline for the Property Tax and Rent Rebate Program for eligible Pennsylvanians. Free application assistance is available at my district offices.

Age, income and disability are critical eligibility factors. First time filers will need photocopies of documents providing proof of age, a spouse’s death certificate if widowed, and proof of permanent disability, if applicable.

Obtain the Property Tax and Rent Rebate Program application online here or in person in my offices. Questions can be answered by the Online Customer Service Center at 1-888-PATAXES. If you have already applied and 8 to 10 weeks have lapsed since filing, contact the PA Department of Revenue for a status report on your rebate.
