Coffee and Conversation, Concealed Carry Events Coming Up Soon

I am deeply thankful to all of the community residents who have joined me at outreach events throughout the area in recent weeks, including my two town hall events held in Mount Joy and New Holland this month. One of the most important parts of my job is encouraging constituents to share their thoughts and opinions on the issues facing our community and state. This feedback is not just meaningful – it’s essential.

Over the next several weeks, I look forward to hosting three additional community events in the area. On May 3, I will host a Coffee and Conversation event from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the West Earl Township Building, 157 West Metzler Road in Ephrata. Although an RSVP is not required for this event, I would appreciate if attendees would call my Lititz office at 717-627-0036.

I also have scheduled two Concealed Carry Seminars to help gun owners understand their rights and responsibilities. Seating is limited for these events, so an RSVP is required. There are still a few seats open for a seminar I will host along with Representative Mindy Fee on April 27 beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Brickerville Fire Company, located at 10 Hopeland Road in Lititz.

Representative Zimmerman and I will host another Concealed Carry Seminar on Thursday, June 1 at 6:30 p.m. at Blue Ball Fire Company in East Earl. To RSVP or learn more about the event, visit http://www.senatoraument.com/concealed-carry-seminar/.

For more details on any of these events, please feel free to call my district office.

I appreciated the opportunity to learn more about the programs offered at the Pennsylvania College of Technology, including all of the fine work being done in the automotive restoration facility.

Free Cyber Security Seminars Scheduled

Protecting against hacking, malware, ransomware and other cyber threats is a serious issue, especially for businesses that are entrusted with the personal and financial information of their clients. The PA eCommerce Association will host a pair of free seminars to help business owners and HR/IT professionals identify potential risks and plan to defend against cyber threats.

The first seminar will be held on Thursday, May 18 at the Lancaster Campus of Harrisburg Area Community College. A second seminar will be held on Friday, May 19 at Orrstown Bank Community Center, 4750 Lindle Road in Harrisburg. Both sessions will be held from 7:30 a.m. until noon.

More information on both events is available online at www.paecommerce.com.

I enjoyed meeting with students from Millersville, Elizabethtown, Kutztown and Lancaster Bible College who visited the State Capitol this week for Social Workers Advocacy Day.

Property Tax Rent Rebate Applications Available Now

Most Pennsylvanians recently completed the tax filing process for state, federal and local returns. With this information close at hand, it is the perfect time for low-income seniors and disabled individuals to apply for rebates on rent or property taxes paid last year as part of the state’s Property Tax Rent Rebate Program.

Information and applications for the Property Tax Rent Rebate Program are available online at www.revenue.state.pa.us or by calling toll-free 1-888-222-9190. Property Tax Rent Rebate claim forms and more information are also available at my district office in Lititz. I encourage local residents to call my office if they have any questions about the program or the application process.
