I want to relay the following information that was sent to me from Verizon:
Verizon will be conducting wireline maintenance Monday night, March 6, starting at 11:00 p.m. in our switching office serving Kempton. Verizon Wireline telephone and High-speed Internet (DSL) service will be interrupted for a short period of time while the maintenance is performed. Work is being performed overnight when network traffic is lightest, with restoral of full service expected early Tuesday morning, March 7th.
Q: How will wireline phones be affected?
A: Wireline customers in the impacted area will not be able to place or receive phone calls during this time.
Q: Will wireless phones be affected?
A: Wireless phone users calling 9-1-1 or other wireless numbers are not expected to be impacted. Wireless phones calling a wireline phone number in the impacted area will not connect during this time.
Q: Will the Internet be affected for Verizon landline customers?
Q: How long will outage be?
A: The disruption of wireline service is expected to be brief. Work is being done in the middle of the night to minimize inconvenience to customers.
Q: Will 9-1-1 service be affected?
A: Wireline phone calls from the impacted area will not connect to 9-1-1 during this time. Verizon recommends customers in the impacted area plan to use wireless phones if needed during scheduled maintenance overnight.
